Damascus-SANA

The Central Bank of Syria asked all importers whose goods arrived at one of the Syrian ports until the 31st of this month and have not been cleared, to review its branches in the governorates.

The Central Bank said in a circular to its branches and licensed exchange companies operating in Syria that SANA received a copy of it that due to the missile aggression carried out by the Israeli occupation entity at dawn today and targeting the container yard in the commercial port in Latakia, “all importers whose goods arrived at one of the Syrian ports until the date of 31-31 12 They have not yet been cleared, and these goods are subject to Central Decision No. 1070 of August 31, 2021 and its amendments, and they have not yet obtained a letter allowing them to clear them and review its branches.”

The Central added that the aforementioned importers “must bring a copy of the “manifest” document that proves the arrival of their goods to one of the Syrian ports to submit a pledge to complete the procedures for disclosing the sources of funding and to obtain a letter of approval for clearance.”

It is noteworthy that Central Decision No. 1070 was opened according to which a new channel was opened through which the importer can secure the necessary parts to finance his imports assets through the licensed exchange companies working for the materials specified in the list attached to the resolution and in a way that enables the importer to rid his goods of these materials properly without reducing the financing mechanism or channels.

And the Israeli occupation entity carried out a missile attack at about 3:21 am today, targeting the container yard in the commercial port in Lattakia, which led to fires in the place and causing great material damage.
