The vaccination campaign is in full swing in France while contaminations explode: no less than 208,000 in the last 24 hours according to the Minister of Health Olivier Véran.
On December 28, 21,355 patients made an appointment with Doctolib for a first injection of serum, up 10.5% over one week.
During the day, 46,589 first-time injections were thus recorded in the territory.
Of course, the "speaking out" effect of Jean Castex and Olivier Véran plays a role.
But not only.
The opening of vaccination to 5-11 year olds, since December 22, also explains this increase.

, the Doctolib platform ensures that appointments for a first dose are not a priority.
“
Everything is extremely fluid
”: the average time between booking a slot and the injection is 10.1 days for a first dose over the last two weeks;
13.9 days with regard to the recall.
Boom in under 18s
In detail, those under 18 were 5116 (or 25.3% of the total) to block a slot on the platform on Tuesday, against 3540 a week before. The over 50s were nearly 3,100. "
91% of the population [is] first-time vaccinated,
" said the Prime Minister during his last speech, reiterating the "
go-to
" policy while making "
weigh as much as possible the constraint on the unvaccinated
". This boom is not, however, comparable to that observed a few months ago, when French vaccination coverage was lower.
As for reminder appointments, the enthusiasm is also notable: around 457,000 on Doctolib on December 27, three times more than the day before, a basis of comparison however truncated by the Christmas weekend.
To find a level comparable to Monday, it is necessary to go back to the end of November.
On November 25, the Minister of Health then announced that the health pass would no longer be valid on January 15, without a third dose.
