Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak affirmed today that his country is confident that no party will be able to disrupt the implementation of the (North Stream 2) gas pipeline project, through which gas will pass to Europe.

Novak said in an interview with the RBC media institution: "We believe that this project cannot be disrupted.. It was built in accordance with all legal requirements after there was a lot of opposition.. But nevertheless we are confident that this pipeline will supply Europe." gassed.”

Novak announced that his country is ready to raise the volume of gas production and supplies to meet European demand, and indicated that there is a need to conclude long-term contracts for this purpose. If the volume of consumption in Europe is provided by long-term supplies from Russia, Algeria and Norway, prices will be more stable.”

Russia constantly calls for stopping the politicization of the (Northern Stream 2) project, stressing that it is a commercial project that will benefit Russia and the European Union.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced earlier that the United States could not, with its statements on sanctions against the (North Stream 2) gas pipeline, cover up its inability to compete.

On the other hand, Novak indicated that the volume of global demand for oil increased in 2021 by 4.5 to 5 million barrels per day, and is expected to increase in 2022 by about 4 million barrels per day.
