One of the characteristics of the year 2021 is our addiction to shipments. True, it started as early as last year during closures where only couriers were allowed to roam the streets, but we got used to it, and internalized - and many of us realized that sitting at home with family or friends and ordering dinner could be no less enjoyable - and much more rewarding - than going to a restaurant: no need Look for parking or order a taxi, you do not have to babysit, the wine in the cupboard or refrigerator is at a store price - and at the end of the meal you can just throw everything in the trash instead of filling the dishwasher ...

Looking at the order data, it can be seen that the most sought-after dishes in the afternoon are slightly different from the popular dishes that Israelis order in the evening.
While in the afternoon the most ordered dishes are salad in the first place, schnitzel in the second place, hamburger and fries in the third place and Pokey in the fourth place, in the evening the most invited dishes are hamburger or cheeseburger with fries in the first place, ice cream in the second place, popcorn in the third place and pizza Margarita in fourth place.
Batan Biss also noted that the most popular ice cream flavors this year were: milk chocolate pretzel, kinder bueno and salted caramel.

Batan Bite also points to trends that have shown an upward trend in demand in the past year, with the most notable being fish maki, salmon poke and fried chicken whose orders have jumped by hundreds of percent.
The vegan trend was also particularly noticeable, with an increase of about 10% in ordering vegan dishes, with the leading dishes in this category being: soba noodles, tofu-scrambled sandwich and cauliflower shawarma.

The hamburger also dominates Germany
Identical data were also collected by Tan Biss' sister companies in Europe under the Dutch parent company Just Eat Takeaway.
It was found that in
Germany
the most favorite dishes for deliveries were: cheeseburger, butter chicken, pizza salami and pizza margarita. In
France
, this year's tacos starred the tacos, followed by butter chicken, beef burger and nuggets.
In
Italy
, unsurprisingly, Pizza Diablo and Pizza Margherita star in the first two places. They are followed by the Spring Rolls and the souffle - a fried Italian snack coated in bread crumbs and stuffed with a ball of rice with tomato sauce and a piece of mozzarella.

Netherlands
, the most ordered dishes this year were: stir-fry, pizza margarita, the local cappuccino - a dish of French fries, meat, gouda cheese and vegetables, and in fourth place - pork ribs.

Similar to Israel, there is also an increase in demand for vegetarian and vegan dishes in Europe by tens of percent compared to the past year.

"We see that even in 2021, more and more Israelis are choosing to order food at home," said Tan Biss CEO Nurit Shaked.
Both Israel and the world understand today that ordering food has become a pastime in itself, and we expect to see an increase in demand during 2022 as well.
