The US dollar rose today to its highest level in five years against the Japanese yen, supported by a jump in Treasury yields.
Reuters reported that the dollar hit 115.815 yen for the first time since January 11, 2017, after long-term Treasury yields jumped 12.5 basis points overnight to 1.6420 percent.
The dollar index settled near its highest level in a week at 96.328, and the euro price reached $1.1302, and the sterling pound fell to $1.34685, recording $1.3431.
The Australian dollar was trading near its lowest level in two weeks at $0.7184.
