In Germany, production by industrial companies fell again in November.

Compared to the previous month, the total production has shrunk by 0.2 percent, announced the Federal Statistical Office on Friday in Wiesbaden.

Analysts were surprised by the development.

On average, they had expected an increase of one percent.

In addition, according to new data, the increase in the previous month was not as strong as previously known.

According to this, production increased by only 2.4 percent in October, after an increase of 2.8 percent had previously been reported.

Year-on-year, production fell 2.4 percent in November.

Compared to February 2020, the month before the restrictions due to the corona pandemic began, production was 7.0 percent lower.
