The representatives of the sector had asked for a lowering of the threshold set by the State to help companies whose activity is affected by health measures.

They were opposed to an end of inadmissibility.

Accusing a sharp drop in the attendance of hotels, cafes and restaurants (HCR) since the emergence of the Omicron variant in the territory, representatives of the sector sent a letter to the Ministry of the Economy on Friday.

Because currently, the State agrees to take charge of the fixed costs of a company from the moment it loses 50% of its usual turnover, in accordance with what Bruno Le Maire was able to announce on Monday, January 3. last. For the representatives of the sector, it is too much: they demanded a lowering of this height rod to 30% loss of turnover. A request swept away at Bercy at this stage. Fears of a new shock for the profession

Despite the threat of the Omicron variant, the sector has so far escaped the strict measures that had prevailed during previous waves of coronavirus.

But even the lighter restrictive measures that have been decided weigh on the activity, denounce the representatives.

Thus, according to two studies submitted by representatives of the sector to Bercy, 79% of restaurateurs say that their turnover fell by more than 30% between the month of December and the beginning of January.

The Ministry of the Economy, cited by

, has a harder reading of these figures.

Bercy notes in fact that "

the majority

" of the companies questioned have lost more than 50% of turnover, and can therefore claim the aid that the government has already offered.

The ministry also argues that it must be focused on ensuring that state money "
