Oil prices fell for the second consecutive session.
Reuters reported that Brent crude futures fell 38 cents, or 0.46 percent, to $81.37 a barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 34 cents, or 0.43 percent, to $78.56 a barrel.
The decline in prices comes as a result of the negative impact of the rapid rise in infections with the mutated Omicron strain of the Corona virus on the global economy.
