The restaurant in Modi'in: "The Minister of Finance is inaccurate, there is a decrease of 40% per week"
The finance minister described sitting in a restaurant in the industrial area of Modi'in that was "blown up."
We went out to check and it turns out that the Minister of Finance is inaccurate: neither in time nor in the number of diners.
According to Chen Zaguli from the Rosa restaurant in Modi'in: "There is a 40% decrease in the number of diners."

Just yesterday, the Minister of Finance, Avigdor Lieberman, said in a zoom meeting with journalists that he was "yesterday" (Saturday night) in Modi'in and that the restaurants were "blown up."
To test the finance minister's remarks, we went out to restaurants in the Modiin industrial area and found that things were a bit exaggerated or at least not really accurate: First it turns out that Lieberman was on Thursday at the Gems restaurant, which belongs to the popular brewery.
The owners of the restaurant and the team did not agree to be interviewed.
But the restaurant which is usually indeed "blown up" was quite empty (it should be noted that we visited it in the afternoon, i.e. not an hour when it is supposed to be full), but to our question "When will the kitchen close?"
They replied that it might be earlier than usual "due to the situation".
In any case, it is possible that Lieberman nevertheless helped a bit with the situation of the restaurants in the area, because the only couple who dined there replied that he came "because of Lieberman".

The one who did agree to speak was Chen Zagoli, one of the owners of the nearby "Rosa" meat restaurant.
He said the finance minister was "inaccurate" because although on Thursday evenings, the strongest day of the week among kosher restaurants, occupancy was reasonable, they have experienced a significant slowdown in turnover since the fifth wave's isolation policy began.
Zaguli adds: "The finance minister's figure is inaccurate. If the finance minister had taken data from the SBA, he would have understood that the decline is consistent, there is a decline of about 40% every week."

"At the end of the country you will have to pay the unemployed"
When asked what he thinks the finance minister should do to help the restaurateurs, Zagoli clarified: "There will be a wave of layoffs of workers that the state will eventually have to pay. I think a new compensation outline is needed to keep the workers and not create unemployment."
Concluded.
