The total value of personal loans and purchase of residential or commercial real estate granted by the Commercial Bank of Syria during the year 2021 exceeded the threshold of 111 billion Syrian pounds, with a number of loans of more than 13,000 loans.
According to Syrian commercial statistics, SANA obtained a copy of it, granting more than 140 “professional and durable goods” loans, with a total value exceeding one and a half billion Syrian pounds.
Based on these figures, the credit facilities and loans granted by the bank last year recorded a growth rate of more than 300 percent compared to 2020, especially that the volume of direct facilities and investment loans amounted to about 15 billion pounds.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian Commercial launched a number of various products last year, including a loan to purchase real estate in mid-September, loans to military and civilian workers in the Ministry of Defense with preferential benefits, personal loans to the Internal Security Forces, civil employees in the Ministry of Interior and its affiliates, in addition to a package of electronic payment services to pay bills.
