Do you live in Rishon Lezion and have an electric car?

You got along.

The project to build 500 charging stations for public use will be built in the coming years by Sonol EVI, with 50 of them already active.

The year 2021, which ended with more than 11,000 electric cars and over 13,000 new plug-in cars on the roads, marked the year of the significant turning point in the Israeli car market in everything related to electric cars.

And just to give proportions to change, in 2021 alone, five times more electric cars were sold in Israel than in all the years that preceded it.

This is a trend that will continue in the coming years with the entry of more and more electric models into the market and even other car manufacturers.

However, alongside this increase, in everything related to the electricity infrastructure available to users in the deployment of public charging stations, the State of Israel is lagging behind.

According to a report by the Knesset Research and Information Center, in contrast to the goal set by the Ministry of Energy, according to which 2,500 public charging stations will be set up in Israel by the end of 2020, as of December 2021, there were 190 stations with 871 outlets (https: //cars.walla .co.il / item / 3480952). And in

the absence of a government, these are the local authorities that promote the field of setting up these positions, both in order to allow residents the availability of charging infrastructure and no less so in cases where the municipality itself uses the charging network. The security company is already using electric patrol vehicles.

We will continue to work to make Rishon Lezion environmentally friendly and greener."

As part of the project, stations will be set up in parking lots, employment areas, commerce and residential neighborhoods, at the beach and near the main traffic arteries, fast charging stations of 50 kilowatts and above will also be installed, which allow supporting vehicles to charge 80 percent of the batteries .

And while home charging at a cost of 50 agorot per kilowatt is still the most affordable, in addition, Rishon Lezion residents will enjoy a 20 percent discount from the regular charging rate, which ranges from NIS 1.58 per kilowatt at the regular 22 kilowatts to 2.30 at the company's 50 kilowatts.
