Damascus-SANA

Owners of small and micro enterprises are keen to participate in exhibitions and bazaars that are held periodically to display their heritage handicrafts and various types of food, textile and cosmetic industries, considering their presence as an opportunity to introduce and market the products.

During her participation in the “Syrian Colors” bazaar, which is currently held at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus, the craftswoman “Maysa Dahman” indicated that she is one of the permanent participants in the bazaar, which is held almost monthly, in addition to her presence in other exhibitions with the aim of introducing the perfumes she produces within her small workshop, considering this type of participation as Advertising and promotion has a role in increasing the demand for direct purchase of products or specific recommendations.

Bazaars and fairs are distinguished by the fact that their visitors come from different age groups, according to participation, “Maya Ksaibati”, which produces handmade sweets and participates in a number of bazaars, noting the importance of this for constant communication with a number of visitors and knowing their preferences and studying the most demanded items in the market.

Waseem Al-Qahf, who displays products for medical glasses and sunglasses, said that the bazaars contribute to creating a market for selling products, especially for those who do not own a shop or private workshop, pointing out that the diversity and development of the exhibits gives an incentive for the participants to be more creative so that each of them has his own mark.

Dania Al Doumani considered the bazaar a window to introduce products, benefit from the experiences of the participants, know the desires of customers, and develop work to stay in the market, where the bazaar has its visitors who find various types of products with high quality.

For its part, Rana Tabbaa, who has been organizing the “Syrian Colors” bazaar since 2016, confirmed that the high demand for participation in the bazaars is increasing due to the acceptable costs compared to the store’s rent or even allocating a place at home, while Maram Al-Asha explained the bazaar organization “Goodness brings us together.” The costs of the participants in the bazaar are limited to the price of the display table, considering that the frequency of participation is evidence of an economic and promotional return suitable for the participants.
