Sales of new cars, which had stalled in 2020 due to the consequences of the pandemic, did not pick up in Europe last year.
The manufacturers have done their calculations: 3.3 million cars have missed the call in Europe in 2021 to regain their health before the Covid crisis.
The market then reached a record level of 13 million new passenger cars sold in the European Union.
So what is happening on the Old Continent?
Is this decline explained solely by the lack of electronic components which is hampering production?
Are customers discouraged by the higher prices of electric and hybrid vehicles favored by major automotive brands?
Is the wait-and-see attitude of customers explained by the prospect of new regulations in Europe on the level of CO2 emissions and pollutants?
