The price of a barrel of Brent crude oil hit its highest level in more than seven years, driven by optimism about demand growth, easing concerns about the omicron and political tensions.
And Agence France-Presse reported that the price of a barrel in futures contracts reached 86.48 dollars in Asian trading, a level not seen in the markets since late October 2014.
The price of Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude has risen more than 10 percent so far this year as investor confidence grows in rising demand as the world slowly returns to normal and economies open.
