Develop a joint plan to disseminate quality concepts and hold specialized courses for this in production sites in coordination with the Federation of Chambers of Industry and Industrial Cities. The most prominent proposals discussed today during the meeting of Minister of Industry Ziad Al-Sabbagh with the president and members of the Syrian Scientific Society for Quality.
The attendees discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the association and the Management and Productivity Development Center to establish training courses and networking with the Standards and Metrology Authority and the Industrial Testing Center, in addition to organizing periodic specialized quality conferences and enhancing the effectiveness and production of a number of companies and productive institutions, including food, engineering and cement.
The meeting touched upon the mechanisms of increasing the competitiveness of industrial enterprises through a high quality product that would gain consumer confidence and amending the Syrian standard specifications in a way that conforms to international quality standards.
The Ministry of Industry had created, within its new structure, a directorate for measurement and quality, within the framework of the implementation of the national project for administrative reform.
