An unloading cargo ship at the new port in Haifa (Yariv Carmeli)
Last week it was learned that the Labor Court is preventing seaport workers from shutting down the ports, which is dismantling workers' organizations from their main weapon in negotiations with the state, regarding goods to be unloaded at private seaports
. For all intents and purposes - and not just for containers, as initially agreed with the workers' committees of
the
seaports in Ashdod and Haifa.
Last night (Tuesday) that it has begun to pick up general cargo ships for unloading at the port docks and it is expected to give priority in the future to ships with self-unloading capacity (using the ship’s cranes).

A step that will lead to a reduction in the price of housing?
The Gulf Port has completed in recent days the logistical and professional preparations for the reception of general cargo ships.
Last night, the ship "Anastasia", which is represented by the "Dynamic Shipping" agency, docked with about 4,000 tons of building iron.
The cargo will be unloaded from the ship using a portable crane and a professional and experienced staff over the next few days.
More than 50 ships are currently waiting in Haifa Bay.
Of which 27 iron ships.
The Gulf Port stressed that the long wait for ships to unload significantly increases transportation costs due to fines paid by importers, leading to an increase in construction inputs affecting the rise in housing prices.
The Gulf Port stated: "After completing the preparations at the port, we began to receive unloading general cargo ships in order to help shorten the queue of ships in Haifa Bay. In accordance with the agreement and operating license, the Gulf Port is obligated to assist the Israeli economy and port customers in resolving the crisis."
