Working in high-tech is the dream of many Israelis who look enviously at the salaries and conditions of their colleagues in the industry, but for many Ukrainians, the difference may be much more significant, judging by the words of
Boaz Katz, co-founder of Bizzabo
, one of its global affiliates in Kiev, Ukraine and dozens of businesses. Workers who are currently under threat of invasion by the Russian army.
Bizabo, an Israeli startup that has developed event management tools, has been operating in Kiev for about five years.
Katz: "It may be a bit like living in Israel. There are stressed workers and there are fewer, but in the last two days the pressure has increased and there are thoughts about how to prepare."
"It's challenging," Katz adds: "For several weeks we have been preparing plans on how to take care of our people there. There is a lot of knowledge sharing between the various startup companies. In today's era, startup companies are afraid of the digital assets and much work they have invested, even more than office locations. We are harassed today, we are a people of laptops and can take them and work anywhere "

"Hopefully no blood will be shed"
Katz details the operative preparations for a case of Russian invasion of Kiev: "We have updated all the contact details of the workers and families. We have contingency plans for renting cars for alternative offices, apartments for families and if they also need hotel rooms. Money that will be thrown in the trash and we will not have to use it. "
"This is a responsibility and these are our people and they are good people, some of them are also friends. We are troubled, but let's not forget that there are those who look at Israel like that ... we hope no blood is shed."
Katz concluded.
