The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Daraa started selling imported foreign potato seeds to the subscribed farmers after the entire subscribed quantity reached the branch's warehouses.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Ghazi Al-Nasif, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the quantities subscribed to for the 2021-2022 agricultural season amount to 365,5 tons, at a price ranging between 2.9 million and 3.5 million Syrian pounds per ton, according to the variety, indicating that sales operations continue until farmers obtain their quantities.
Al-Nasif explained that the potato seeds sold in the Seed Multiplication Branch and other branches of the Corporation in the governorates enjoy high reliability and good productivity per unit area.
Last season, farmers subscribed to 4,200 tons of foreign potato seeds.
