After Danone, Groupe Rocher or Crédit Mutuel, Korian plans to become a company with a mission.
This statute, introduced by the Pacte law of 2019, allows companies to include in their statutes a "raison d'être" and social and environmental objectives.
Korian, the French number 1 nursing home, will launch work on this status with the aim of ratifying its transformation into a company with a mission, not at its next general meeting but at that of June 2023.
This initiative comes at the height of the “Orpea affair”.
The publication, at the end of January, of the book
Les Fossoyeurs
, which denounces an “
Orpea system
” made up of dubious financial practices, has cast doubt on the entire sector.
Korian, also pinned down in the investigation, saw its title unscrew by a third in one month;
its image, already tarnished at the start of the Covid, is even more tarnished.
