In the background, there are more and more reports of the difficult war between Russia and Ukraine, Nimrod Wax, one of the founders of BigID and the company's operations manager in Israel, spoke with

Liat Ron on 104.5fm North Radio

about the struggle of the company's employees in Ukraine.

"We have a large group, several dozen workers in Ukraine. The offices are in Kiev but in the last year, because of the corona, a lot of them work from home," he noted: "We are in touch with everyone."

"Half of them have already found their way to western Ukraine, to safer places," he said, adding: "Some have already left, and some have even arrived in the country."

However, he stressed: "Most of them are still in Ukraine, about 30-20 are still in different places in Ukraine. We have very moving stories that are a reflection of what is seen in the news. Some are going to fight and are very anxious about their future."

Hoping for workers to return to routine, fearing information theft by the Russians

Regarding the high-tech industry's handling of the war, he said: "I do not think there will be a long-term impact here. It will require adjustments. It is too early to know what the nature of the work with Ukraine will be," he added. "

Maybe some of the long-term plans will be postponed for a few weeks.

In the end, I guess people will either return to work as soon as the fighting subsides, or we have an alternative location.

Towards the end of the conversation, Wax referred to possible attempts to steal information from the company, against the background of the war.

"We are really taking this into account and addressing it. We are taking very purposeful steps to reduce this threat," he said, stressing: "It is clearly a risk that we are taking it into account."
