A queue of ships is waiting to unload goods, a gift that weighs on the cost of living, but in the port of Ashdod the mess is celebrated: the Labor Court last night issued a temporary restraining order to the Workshop Committee, which will prevent them from tightening sanctions at the port.
Today at ten-thirty another hearing will be held on the request.
The port management hurriedly approached the Labor Court last night following a statement issued by the committee on the escalation of sanctions, which have been going on for several months due to its demand to reverse the maintenance agreement signed in 2020, and granted an additional NIS 2,000 to workers' salaries.
The Port Board has agreed to extend it by three years, provided that the objectives and criteria are met.
The committee, which opposes any stipulations and demands immediate signing of the agreement as it is and permanently, has opened a labor dispute and is threatening to shut down the port.

Managing the crisis from the holiday in Eilat
It should be noted that the committee members, who, like their members in the workshops sector, earn a salary that averages NIS 35,000 per month, are now vacationing in Eilat at the expense of the Histadrut - and managing the crisis from their place of vacation.
This is while a port of over 20 ships is waiting in the port waiting to be unloaded, and due to malfunctions in the cranes and equipment that are supposed to assist in the work, and are not repaired properly, a huge financial loss was caused to importers and the port.
Despite the damage done to the port and the public, the Minister of Transportation, Merav Michaeli actually adopts the forceful position of the Port Workers' Committee, as reported yesterday in Walla.
