Wait for me in July: Self-employed?
Do not rush to return the corona grants
In line for the self-employed?
The tax authority has not decided when to start enforcing the return of the self-employed grants but if there is enforcement it will start from those whose losses due to the corona were minimal.
The remarks were made by a representative of the Tax Authority in a special discussion in the Economics Committee

The Economy Committee today discussed the issue of reimbursement of aid grants that the tax authority requires self-employed whose business turnover did not decrease by 40% during the Corona crisis, currently the tax authority does not enforce the reimbursement of grants by the self-employed and the repayment is "voluntary".
The bottom line of the discussion is that if the tax authority starts enforcing the tax refunds soon, in any case until 31.6 the enforcement will be applied only to a self-employed person who has not lost money or experienced a decline in balance of up to 10%, only from the end of June the tax authority will start 'handling 'Bashar.
At the beginning of the discussion,
the committee's chairman, MK Michael Bitton
, asked
Shlomo Ohayon, VP of customer service at the Tax Authority
: "You are a decent person and you do not like me, do you intend to postpone the return of grants from March 31?"
Ohayon He replied: "The answer is no."
Bitton later handed over the floor to MKs. The vast majority of them focused mainly on helping small business owners, but almost "as usual"
MK Moshe Abutbul (Shas) and MK Vladimir Bilak (Yesh Atid)
clashed when Abutbul said: "Accept Refugees But what about our refugees? They have nothing to eat. "
Bliac replied, "You're a racist. Aren't you ashamed? It's the same one who called me vodka. Vodka in the plenum. You're a racist."
Abutbul did not remain obligated: "I will not come back to you. You brought the vodka and whiskey" (at least for the latter, perhaps it is worthwhile to update the esteemed MK on his sources.)
At this point Chairman Bitton reassured the spirits: For the sake of business, there is a tussle between the coalition and the opposition. "
Spring top
Speaking at a previous meeting of the committee following the tearful speech to Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, she said: "There is no money. We will not be able to return the grants. "
Avivi added: The coalition is not helping, you are wasting our time in discussions and there is no shortage.
You get a salary every month and we do not. "

There is still no enforcement
Towards the end of the hearing, Chairman Bitton tried to understand whether the tax authority has a working method in which it refers to borderline
cases where the self-employed who have experienced a 37% or 38% decrease in balance will be recognized before the law and will not have to return the grant.
And we know how to treat them but because we are not in the process of enforcement.
We know to recognize those who throughout the period went up in cycles and put a hand in the state coffers.
We'll start with them.
We have about ten thousand such cases.
The potential recipients of the grants are three hundred thousand business owners.
Of those who have to return at least one grant that was received illegally, there are about one hundred and fifty thousand.
