The price of gold in the local market rose by two thousand pounds per gram of 21 karat today, with the global price of an ounce rising to 1940 dollars.
According to the bulletin issued by the Craftsmen Association for Crafting and Making Jewelery in Damascus today, a gram of 21 karat gold recorded a selling price of 210 thousand Syrian pounds and a purchase price of 209,500 pounds, while a gram of 18 karat selling price amounted to 180,000 pounds and a purchase price of 179,500 pounds.
The association asked craftsmen to abide by the price issued by it, calling on citizens who wish to buy gold not to pay for it except according to the bulletin issued by the association.
