It is a French intermediate-sized company (ETI) among the champions of its sector: Virbac is the
sixth largest veterinary laboratory in the
world
.
The company, born in Nice in 1968, has just passed the milestone of one billion euros in turnover, neck and neck with another French company, Ceva Santé Animale.
Covid has accelerated Virbac's growth (+18% in 2021): the number of pet adoptions has increased and the budget allocated to them has increased.
"People have spent more time with their animal and no doubt been able to detect pathologies more easily, this has increased the number of visits to veterinarians and ultimately purchases of our products",
explains Sébastien Huron, CEO of Virbac.
