made from esters and hydrotreated fatty acids, free of aromatics and sulphur, and mainly made up of used cooking oil as well as other fatty waste

Airbus is not on its first test: in March 2021, it was an A350 which made a trip in the same conditions, and an A319neo last October.
Before reaching its “
zero carbon emission
” objective by 2050, the aircraft manufacturer is counting on this type of alternative fuel to reduce its emissions.
In its press release, it also specifies that its entire fleet is certified to fly with up to 50% “
sustainable aviation fuel
” mixed with kerosene.
