2022-04-04T16:55:58.071Z

The candidate of the Reconquest! promises in particular to fight against “domestic violence”. Overview of his other commitments.

Éric Zemmour officially declared himself a presidential candidate on November 30.

After several controversies, in particular following his remarks deemed sexist and retrograde, the leader of the far-right party

Reconquête!

nevertheless declares to be "an ally of the cause" of women.

In an interview with

Elle magazine

, in February, he explained: “Women are wrong to be afraid, I am the most repressive and that is what will protect them.”

He was referring here to an Ifop poll carried out in October 2021 for the women's magazine estimating that 66% of French women were apprehensive to vote for him.

If Éric Zemmour overlooks several major themes related to the latter, he attaches importance to the issue of violence against women.

“I will fight severely against sexual and conjugal violence”, he writes in capital letters in his program.

Family and parenting

Single-parent families.

Éric Zemmour wants to give priority to single mothers in obtaining social housing and places in nurseries.

He also promises to create 60,000 additional places in these establishments over the duration of his five-year term.

Thus, he wants to ensure that “women can more easily juggle family life and work.”

Education.

The leader of the

Reconquest party!

relies heavily on its education-related measures.

Among his proposals, he notably suggests restoring the S, L and ES series (going against the Blanquer reform), and removing allowances for parents who do not "sanction their child" disruptive.

In addition, he intends to "restore the wearing of the blouse" in primary school, put an end to gender theory in schools, and prohibit the teaching of inclusive writing.

"I'm obviously for it," declared Éric Zemmour.

And to add: "At equal work, profession, skills and working time, there must be equal pay for men and women".

However, the candidate has still not detailed his measures to get there.

He estimates that these inequalities have already reduced a lot, and that they now amount to only 5%, as reported by

Les Échos

.

In addition, he aims to set up an index in companies to assess gender parity, even if he specifies that he finds this parity “humiliating” for women.

Female diseases.

No specific announcement.

IVG.

No announcement on abortion, a term that does not appear in its program, has been defined.

On the other hand, Éric Zemmour has declared on several occasions that he would not touch the Veil law, authorizing abortion.

GPA.

Hostile to the PMA, he promises to repeal it if he is ever elected.

It will only be reserved for “man-woman” couples suffering from medically confirmed infertility.

Regarding surrogacy, he advocates its prohibition and wishes to criminalize its recourse abroad.

For this, he explains that he will prohibit "its advertising and the issuance of visas for children born according to this practice as well as the transcription in the civil status of their birth certificates".

Reimbursement of contraception.

No specific announcement.

Disabled adult allowance (AAH).

While Éric Zemmour had already sparked controversy for having criticized “an obsession with inclusion”, his team returned to the issue of disability during the great oral Handébat 2022, which took place on March 23.

Laurence Trochu, who represented the candidate, declared: “Éric Zemmour proposes to create 50,000 positions for accompanying students with disabilities (AESH) and to train them”.

She also suggested that the latter was in favor of deconjugalization of the disabled adult allowance.
