Eitan Wertheimer, 71, one of Israel's top industrialists, has died after dealing with a long illness.
Wertheimer, the son of Steph Wertheimer, served as director of the family companies "And Blade Technology" and "Iscar" and co-founded with his father the IMC group, which they sold to legendary investor Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway for more than $ 6 billion, in one of the largest deals ( And the largest for the time being) in the history of the Israeli economy.
This deal was, among other things, the one that made the Wertheimer family one of the richest in Israel with a family fortune estimated at over NIS 30 billion.
Despite the family pedigree, Wertheimer experienced difficulties as a child in Nahariya, after suffering from polio and losing one of his eyes.
He graduated from the high school-vocational school in the SMT and served in the Armed Forces.
Wertheimer first joined the Iscar factory owned by his father, but left to set up his own factory.
In 1977, after a short stay in the United States, he began to develop his business in Israel and only in 1982 did he rejoin his father in Bishkar
, which he managed when his father was seriously injured in a car accident, until 1995.
In "Africa Israel" - which they sold in a short time in a deal in which they made a fortune

Wertheimer was married to Ariella and the couple had five children (in addition to Arilla's daughter from a previous marriage, musician Sivan Talmore), the best known of whom is actress and model Maya Wertheimer.
The family lived in Kfar Vradim, near the Tefen Industrial Park, where the family's business was concentrated, and later also in Caesarea.
For the last decade of his life, the family lived in Tel Aviv.
Apart from his business, which yielded quite a few headlines (for example when he and his son-in-law purchased the watch complex in Jaffa), Wertheimer was known for a rare collection of hundreds of cars, some antique and rare, several yachts, private jets and more.
