A former banker at the US financial group Goldman Sachs faces a long prison sentence after being found guilty in the corruption scandal involving the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1MDB.
After an eight-week trial in Brooklyn, the jury found the 49-year-old guilty on all charges on Friday.
Violations of US anti-bribery and anti-money laundering laws could now see the bank's former manager up to 30 years in prison.
According to the indictment, he is said to have pocketed more than 35 million dollars (32 million euros) himself from the scams.
The multi-billion dollar 1MDB fund was set up in 2009 to boost Malaysia's economy.
However, ex-government officials and shady advisers are said to have embezzled most of the funds with the help of former Goldman employees.
The bank accepted a $2.9 billion fine in a settlement in October 2020.
The former superior of the now convicted ex-employee, who is considered to be primarily responsible at Goldman, had pleaded guilty and made a deal with law enforcement.
At the trial, he heavily incriminated his former colleague.
