U.S. commercial crude oil reserves jumped 9.4 million barrels in the week ended April 8 but gasoline inventories fell sharply, according to figures released Wednesday by the U.S. Oil and Gas Information Agency. energy (EIA).

Analysts on average expected them to rise by just 1 million barrels.
Gasoline reserves, on the other hand, fell significantly (-3.6 million barrels) as did those of distilled products (-2.9 million).
