The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, affirmed that the coding process for goods and products regulates the work of markets and controls prices in a way that does not allow the prices of goods to vary between one place and another and to be manipulated.
Minister Salem explained during a meeting with the Regional Director of the International Organization for Coding (GS One) Rabie Haswani and a delegation from the Ministries of Finance and Industry and the State Planning Authority that the coding process allows the existence of a complete database for all products of all kinds, stressing the importance of developing permanent cooperation with the organization to develop work and follow-up Barcode updates.
For his part, Haswani gave a detailed presentation about the mechanism of work of barcodes and how to deal with coding of goods, indicating that the coding process saves time and effort and works on marketing products around the world due to the available data about the material through the barcode mechanism.
