The decision to leave the factory was taken by the employees on Thursday, after an agreement was reached between the legal representatives and the local authorities, in order to guarantee the security of the factory and the preservation of the working tool. .
Taken over in 2017 by the Chinese group Jinjiang, the Aveyronnaise Metallurgy Company (SAM), based in Viviez in the former mining area of Decazeville, had been placed in receivership in December 2019. Since then, nearly half of the approximately 350 employees took turns day and night to occupy the site.
