The president takes back the keys of the Élysée. To express himself after his victory, he had chosen the Champ-de-Mars, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. A place towards which he advanced in a symbolic and neat staging.

We remember well, in 2017, the one who had just become the new head of the French Republic.

Alone and in a very theatrical setting, Emmanuel Macron solemnly advanced on the Louvre esplanade to deliver his speech, like a “Jupiterian” president, according to his own expression.

Before joining his wife Brigitte Macron, as well as one of her daughters and granddaughters, on a platform, thus immortalizing her victory with a family photo.

Five years later, the candidate of the “La République En Marche” party has just been re-elected.

With the same scenario (but a tighter score) than in 2017: a victory against the candidate of the far-right party Marine Le Pen (58% against 42%).

With one difference, the staging of his re-election.

Emmanuel Macron had chosen to join his supporters, in the event of victory, on the Champ-de-Mars, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

But he didn't go there alone.

If he had, as usual, meticulously cared for his arrival at the stage set up for his speech, he was accompanied by his wife, Brigitte Macron and several dozen children, sons and daughters of volunteers from his campaign team. .

A symbolic initiative for the one who was criticized for not having spoken enough to young people during his campaign.

“I think of the militants of Madame Le Pen”

“Thank you for having trusted me to preside over our Republic for the next 5 years”, began the tenant of the Élysée, facing a crowd of activists.

And the latter to chant: “Macron president”, followed by the slogan: “And one and two and five years more”.

Emmanuel Macron had a word for all the French men and women who voted for him, but also for the opposition candidates and their members.

“I am thinking of our compatriots who abstained, but also of Madame Le Pen's activists.

I am the president of all and all, ”he continued to thunderous applause.

He also took the opportunity to recall some of the main lines of his program dedicated to creativity, innovation and his desire "to make France a great Nation".

"We are going through tragic times," he continued.

And France must now position itself and take responsibility for its choices.”

With tears in his eye, the President of the Republic thus concluded his speech with a strong sentence: “Certainly, the country is steeped in doubts and division, but we must be strong.

And no one will be left by the wayside.

Facing him, Jean Castex, François Bayrou or even the Minister of Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti, were on the front line to congratulate him.

“I know where he wants to go”

As in 2017, the leader of the French urged his wife to join him on stage.

Dressed in a navy blue suit and high heels, the first lady appeared on the podium with her fist clenched against her heart.

The couple expressed their joy in a hug, before giving way to the Egyptian singer Farrah El Dibany, mezzo soprano of the Paris Opera, to interpret the national anthem.

"I felt an immense emotion, you never get used to it" explained Brigitte Macron, a few minutes later, at the microphone of France 2. We all want things to change.

She also expressed the "tremendous confidence" she has in her husband.

“I know where he wants to go,” she ended up concluding.
