The French are once again flocking to real estate savings products

SCPIs, which have withstood the pandemic well, are once again attractive. Subscriptions soared in the first quarter of 2022.

With inflation, the French who have savings to invest are once again rushing to paper.

Subscriptions to SCPI shares, real estate funds which manage a portfolio of buildings - offices, shops, warehouses, etc. - and pay a share of the rents to savers, literally soared in the 1st quarter of 2022, to 2.6 billion euros (+ 55% over one year), according to the French Association of Real Estate Investment Companies (Aspim).

A level close to the best years, after a drop in subscriptions, linked to the Covid.

It must be said that these products have withstood the crisis particularly well.

Yields have averaged 4.49% in 2021. They are doing better than inflation.

Real estate is traditionally a good bulwark against rising prices.
