A spokesman for the Russian company, Gazprom, Sergey Kupriyanov, confirmed the increase in European consumers' demands for Russian gas, pointing out that they amounted to 98.96 million cubic meters per day.
"Gazprom continues to supply its European customers with Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine, as usual, without change," TASS news agency quoted Kupriyanov as saying, noting that requests from Europe amounted to 109.6 million cubic meters per day in early March.
Last Sunday, the volume of orders reached 97.2 million cubic meters, which is less than the quantities required by Europe under the long-term reservations through the transit gas pipeline to Ukraine.
