The Danish shipping company "Maersk" announced that its losses as a result of its withdrawal from the Russian market exceeded 700 million dollars in the first quarter of this year.
The Danish news agency Ritsos stated that "the Danish shipping company Maersk, which represents one sixth of the total container traffic in the world, has halted all operations in Russia and is now trying to sell its assets in Russian ports, including the warehouse, cold storage and the terminal, and its losses are estimated at five billion Danish kroner, equivalent to 700 million dollar".
It is noteworthy that three giant shipping companies, including Maersk, took decisions to cancel new reservations to and from Russia early last month, with the exception of foodstuffs and medical and humanitarian supplies, justifying this by the growing concern about the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis.
