The Russian ruble continued to rise against the American and European currencies, as it traded today below the level of 68 rubles against the dollar for the first time since March 2020.
The RIA Novosti news agency reported that the dollar exchange rate fell by 3.03 rubles to 67.93 rubles, according to the data of the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The euro also traded below the level of 71 rubles for the first time since February 2020, as the exchange rate of the European currency fell by 3.35 rubles to 70.91 rubles.
At the beginning of last month, the Russian Central Bank announced a set of measures to achieve financial and economic stability in Russia, among the most prominent of which is obligating exporters in Russia to sell 80 percent of foreign exchange earnings on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
