The German magazine Der Spiegel confirmed that food and fuel prices are rising, heating is getting more expensive, the social crisis is approaching its peak, low-income groups are being severely affected, and the German government is still unanswered about what is happening.

The magazine quoted the head of the Federation of Social Nutrition Centers in Germany, Jochen Brühl, as saying: The numbers of the poor are on the rise, the elderly and people with limited incomes are affected by the rise in food and energy prices as a result of the sanctions against Russia.

Brühl added: By the end of this month, many people will not have the money to buy food, at least healthy food, fresh vegetables and fruits.

Brühl noted that the number of people seeking help this month in the Social Nutrition Center in Nuremberg doubled to 10,000 and that the situation was exacerbated by the arrival of 600,000 refugees in Germany from Ukraine who also depend on state support.

For his part, Peter Frolich, chef at the Center for Social Nutrition in Nuremberg, noted that an increasing number of elderly Germans are faced with one of the two options: freezing to death or starving to death.
