Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg reiterated his country's refusal to impose a ban on Russian gas imports.
The Austrian newspaper Al-Kurier quoted Schallenberg as saying during a seminar in Salzburg: We depend on Russian gas and Russia will always remain Europe's neighbor, pointing out that Austria will not support a possible European embargo on Russian energy.
On the other hand, Schallenberg strongly ruled out his country's joining NATO and said: There will be no discussion on this issue because Austria is a militarily neutral country, but it has never been politically neutral.
