I believe that taking away women's right to decide when and if they want to have children would have very harmful effects on the economy and would set back (the condition of) women by several decades
", declared the Minister of Economy and Finance of Joe Biden, during a hearing in the Senate.
She notes that "
denying women access to abortion increases their chances of living in poverty or needing public assistance
."

Eliminating a right that has existed for half a century, especially for low-income and minority women, who have already borne much of the burden of the Covid pandemic, would be a disaster
,” she warned.
