Oil prices rose more than five percent today, with a decrease in Russian gas supplies to Europe and the imposition of sanctions on European gas companies.
Reuters reported that Brent crude prices rose $5.05, or 4.9 percent, when settling at $107.51 a barrel, and US West Texas Intermediate crude rose $5.95 a barrel, or 6%, to $105.71.
Gasoline stocks fell by 3.6 million barrels in the last week, and oil prices rose in 2022, with the price of Brent reaching $139 a barrel in March, its highest level since 2008.
