The head of "Moldova Gas" Vadim Shaban announced that since the beginning of next May, the country will pay the Russian company Gazprom for the gas it receives in euros, in agreement with it.
"Moldova has stopped paying in dollars according to the agreement with Gazprom... and from May 1, we will pay in euros," Shaban told RTR Moldova television channel.
The head of Moldova Gaz explained that under an agreement with Russia's Gazprom, it is possible to pay in rubles and euros because Moldova is not included in the list of countries unfriendly to the Russian Federation.
On the 29th of last October, after lengthy negotiations, Gazprom and Moldovagaz extended the gas supply contract for a period of five years.
