“This is what the job interview boiled down to, when Virginie Blacszyk made her first “extra”, in the footsteps of a friend.
It was a good decade ago, in a restaurant "which turned into a nightclub in the evening", not far from her home in Verneuil-sur-Seine (Yvelines).
A battalion of champagne glasses jolted on the tray that the boss handed him.

Virginie didn't stumble.
And so, without further training, the young mother, then in her thirties, became a waitress.
“At the time, I was a childminder.
Babysitting was good, but being surrounded by adults was better.
