"I worked seven days a week": Virginie, a former waitress, converted to human resources


The confinement was the trigger for her. After ten years in the restaurant business, this mother from Yvelines trained and was hired

“This is what the job interview boiled down to, when Virginie Blacszyk made her first “extra”, in the footsteps of a friend.

It was a good decade ago, in a restaurant "which turned into a nightclub in the evening", not far from her home in Verneuil-sur-Seine (Yvelines).

A battalion of champagne glasses jolted on the tray that the boss handed him.

“The joke was:

if you drop one, you're fired


Virginie didn't stumble.

And so, without further training, the young mother, then in her thirties, became a waitress.

“At the time, I was a childminder.

Babysitting was good, but being surrounded by adults was better.
