National Bureau of Statistics spokesman Fu Linghui announced that the Chinese economy is expected to recover gradually as the country achieves major results in the fight against the Omicron epidemic and pro-growth policies play an influential role.
"The country's economy was hit by the re-emergence of locally transmitted COVID-19 cases last April, but the effects are short-term and external," Fu Ling was quoted as saying by Xinhua, noting that the fundamentals of the Chinese economy have not changed, and the general trends of transformation, economic modernization and development are high. The quality has not changed either.
"There are many favorable conditions for stabilizing the economy and reaching the desired development goals," the Chinese official added, noting that looking into the future, China will strengthen the overall policy adjustment to ensure that the economy operates within the appropriate range.
