While the French have become almost as concerned about feeding their animals as their own, responsible animal food start-ups are booming.
Among them, Reglo, a young shoot created in 2020 by two brothers, Basile and Maxime Laigre, which bet on kibbles for dogs and cats based on insect protein.
Specifically, they include in their recipes an ingredient made from powdered black soldier fly larvae.
"By replacing meat with insect protein, the production of which is twenty times less intensive in greenhouse gases than beef, we have a more virtuous product for the environment while remaining nutritionally good for dogs and cats”
