Fuel prices in Germany currently vary greatly between the federal states.
According to the ADAC, there are more than nine cents between the most expensive and the cheapest countries for both diesel and premium E10 petrol.
It is therefore cheapest to fill up in Saarland and Bavaria.
Super E10 cost 2.046 euros per liter on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Bavaria, 2.057 euros in Saarland and 2.070 euros in Baden-Württemberg.
In Saxony-Anhalt, at the other end of the scale, EUR 2.140 was due, in Brandenburg EUR 2.137 and in Bremen EUR 2.130.
When it comes to diesel, Saarland is the cheapest: at 1.996 euros, it is the only federal state to be below the two euro mark.
It was followed by Rhineland-Palatinate with 2.004 and Bavaria with 2.010 euros per liter.
At the other end of the scale are Schleswig-Holstein with 2.091 euros, Bremen with 2.072 and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with 2.057 euros per liter.
Oil prices rise on hopes of China ending lockdown
Oil prices have increased somewhat on this one.
At midday, a barrel (159 liters) of North Sea Brent cost $115.03.
That was 79 cents more than the day before.
The price of a barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was up 65 cents to $114.84.
"The price increase is due to optimism that the corona lockdown in Shanghai could be relaxed," said Carsten Fritsch, a commodity expert at Commerzbank.
It cites statements by the deputy mayor that the restrictions could be lifted by June 1.
In the metropolis of Shanghai, with a population of 25 million, no new infections were reported for the third day in a row, which is a condition for easing the strict virus measures.
"The lockdown in Shanghai that has been in place since the end of March was a noticeable burden on oil demand," writes Fritsch.
China is one of the largest oil consumers in the world.
