This is the whole paradox of the French economy.
While inflation is increasingly eating away at wages and growth forecasts remain close to 0%, the unemployment rate remains stable.
According to the figures communicated this Tuesday morning by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee), in the first quarter of 2022, it is 7.3% of the population, or 2.2 million people unemployed according to the method of calculation of the International Labor Office (ILO).
A level not reached since 2008.
