The General Authority for Taxes and Fees reminded the owners of tourist establishments of two stars and above that are charged with collecting the consumption expenditure fee, the necessity of adhering to the mechanism of electronic linking of invoices issued by these establishments with the central database of the tax administration in accordance with the time limits set by it.
In a statement to SANA's reporter, the Authority's Director General, Munther Wannous, explained that all establishments were informed of the mechanisms of the electronic link system, as a number of them obtained the user name and password to export invoices to the authority, while others started the linking procedures. These indicators are good evidence of commitment to the electronic verification mechanism, stressing that the authority is ready To remove any obstacles to the completion of the linking process by these facilities.
In a decision issued by the authority, the tourism establishments in the countryside of Damascus, of two stars and above, with the exception of hotels of categories 4 and 5, granted a deadline until the thirtieth of next June to complete the process of linking with the central database of the tax administration, while the deadline for establishments of the same categories in Damascus ends at the end of this month, including The stage of testing and auditing, according to what was confirmed by Wannous.
The establishments mandated based on this decision shall use one of the accounting programs approved by the tax administration and whose names are listed on the authority’s website to keep records and issue invoices electronically according to Wannous.
The Director General of the authority confirmed that it was agreed with the owners of accounting programs to provide programs with mini-applications that are a point of sale for the establishments wishing to link according to the electronic verification mechanism, which do not have electronic accounting systems for their accounts, in addition to the existence of an electronic application on the mobile for the linking process, pointing out that the authority receives Inquiries and inquiries from the owners of the establishments on the specified WhatsApp number, which is 0998788683.
Wannous pointed out that establishments and hotels of the 4 and 5 star categories have a special program to manage their accounts, and the procedures for linking with them will be completed electronically later, when the link with their programs is ready.
Last February, the Ministry of Finance announced the completion of an electronic mechanism for bills issued by taxpayers that guarantees the rights of customers, sellers and service providers by documenting sales and purchases, avoiding non-registration of accounts, and ensuring that each party in the commercial process receives its dues, including the state’s public treasury.
