Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji announced that his country seeks to raise the volume of trade exchange with Russia to 40 billion dollars a year, considering that cooperation and development of relations between the two countries provides the possibility of thwarting the Western embargo imposed on them.
"The two countries possess good energies in various fields, including banking, transportation, agriculture, nuclear energy, industry and free trade," IRNA quoted Oji as saying in a press statement yesterday on the sidelines of a meeting of high-level economic and trade delegations in Tehran.
He added, "We decided in the oil field, which is one of the most important axes of the talks, to use the national currency of the two countries in bilateral relations and bilateral monetary treaties."
Oji pointed out that both Iran and Russia are facing the unjust Western embargo, pointing out that in light of cooperation and development of relations, the possibility of thwarting it is available.
