With the participation of about forty companies, the activities of the second International Exhibition of Shipping and Customs Clearance “Cargosier” kicked off this evening, in its second session, on the fairgrounds of the exhibition city in Damascus.
The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ammar Kamal El-Din, said in a statement to reporters that the exhibition is an opportunity for companies to meet with their various types of land, sea, air, technical and logistical activities.
Kamal El-Din pointed out that the Damascus-Aleppo train is ready and will start soon after completing some technical works and securing the necessary labor for it and the fees for transporting goods according to the popular prices, explaining that the high freight rates from Syrian ports are due to the high fees imposed on goods abroad.
In turn, the head of the Federation of International Freight Forwarding Companies in Syria, Saleh Kishore, indicated that Syria provides all facilities for the Arab truck and has introduced it in all circumstances, explaining that there are 21,000/ Syrian trucks working on external lines and /5000/ refrigerator working on external lines, pointing out that the Ministry of Transport follows All means and address all countries and demand reciprocity.
For his part, the head of the Syrian Association for National Shipping and Logistics, Riyad Al-Serafi, stated that the association organizes the number of offices and provides data with the association and the union to know the workers and those who are suspended from work and what services can be provided and to know the obstacles facing the offices, pointing out that the association constitutes a link between this sector and the Ministry of Transport and has begun Implementation of training courses to raise the level of cadres and people of the profession to rise to the international level.
The Director General of the organizing company, Anas Zabian, stated that the majority of the participating companies are local companies, with Arab participation from the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon, explaining that they varied between shipping and customs clearance companies, technology related to GPS systems, and advertising and media companies.
Osama Satea, Director of Business Development and Relationships at Cham Wings Airlines, pointed out that the company has a specialized department for shipping and transports goods, including personal ones, which is a distinguished service and the company is trying to provide it with high quality and competitive prices.
Abdul Aziz Karbouj, an official in the Syrian Air Company, stated that Syrian Airlines is the first government carrier company, and despite the imposed economic blockade, it still exists and shines, pointing out that Syrian Air is offering an offer to those wishing to ship through the exhibition at a discount of 5/percent per kilogram.
A representative of a shipping and clearing company from the United Arab Emirates explained that the company in Dubai provides all air, sea and land transport services, logistical services and customs clearance, considering that the exhibition is an opportunity to cooperate with shipping, transport and Syrian trade companies and facilitate the passage of goods from papers, loading and unloading to these companies.
It is noteworthy that the exhibition, which is organized by Masarat Company for Exhibitions and Conferences, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and the Syrian National Shipping and Logistics Association, will last for four days.
