The Syrian Grain Foundation opened two centers to receive grains in Lattakia Governorate, in each of the Martyr Urwa Ibrahim Center in the basement of Al-Awamiya in the Jableh Plain, and the Sahel Mill in the Lattakia region, in order to facilitate the receipt of the crop from the farmers.

The director of the Syrian Grain Branch, Eng. Rabie Marwa, said in a statement to SANA reporter during the follow-up to the wheat receipt operations in Qab Al-Awamiya center that the receiving operations began two days ago in the two centers prepared by the institution, pointing to the delay in receiving the wheat compared to last year as a result of the recent rainy weather conditions in the governorate.

Marwa indicated that the branch paid the value of the crops to the farmers on the day following the receipt, noting that the exchange of the value of the wheat does not exceed a maximum of 72 hours in the event that there is a holiday at the banks.

Regarding the facilities used in the wheat delivery process, Marwa indicated that a set of procedures were approved to facilitate its receipt, some of them through the central committee and others through the sub-committee in the governorate, including opening axle loads by 25 percent, which reduces transportation costs. The Corporation also secured cars to transport wheat by its cars From agricultural lands to receiving centers if the quantity is greater than 3 tons, with the provision of fuels for it.

For his part, the expert at the Grain Establishment, Engineer Mazen Nasser, indicated that the wheat that reaches the center is distinguished in terms of quality, pointing out that the sample reaches the laboratory from the secret room with a secret number without knowing the name of the farmer. The weight of the nucleus.

“We deal with grain with great precision and experience, with weights in milligrams, in the framework of ensuring the interest of the farmers and their access to their rights and the establishment alike,” Nasser said.

A number of farmers in the center noted the procedures applied in receiving wheat and the facilities provided for that.
